Who we are
We started with a folding table outside a church hall in Beaumont and a list of families who needed help that week. Two decades on, the table is bigger and the list is longer, yet the promise has not changed. Show up, listen first, and stay long after the emergency has passed.
What we stand on
The people closest to a problem already know most of the answer. Our job is to bring resources, keep the lights on, and hand the credit back. Every program here was shaped in a living room or a church basement before it ever had a budget line.
We ask before we advise. Nobody is a case number, and no one has to explain their worst week twice.
Every dollar is published, including the ones we spent on lessons that did not work.
We build things a neighborhood can keep running once our funding cycle ends.

Our impact
Figures cover the twelve months to June 2026 and are reviewed by our volunteer finance committee.
Programs
Emergency help with rent, utilities and groceries, paired with a case worker who stays with the family for a full year. We handle the paperwork, sit in on the calls, and keep going until the household is steady rather than merely rescued.
Ask about family supportWe match young people aged nine to eighteen with trained volunteers from their own neighborhood. Pairs meet weekly for study help, cooking, fishing, college applications, or simply the company of someone who turns up. Most matches last well beyond the first year.
Become a mentorSix growing plots across Beaumont, run by the families who tend them. Produce goes home first and to our food pantry second. Saturday sessions teach seed saving, soil health and preserving, so the knowledge stays in the neighborhood.
Join a garden dayOur people
If you are patient, practical and good with people, we would like to hear from you. Case workers, garden coordinators and volunteer mentors are always welcome.
Hope Community gave our family a fresh start. The mentorship program changed my son's outlook on life. We are forever grateful.

October 15 2026
Our twentieth anniversary evening at the Beaumont Civic Center, with dinner, a silent auction and stories from four families who have been with us since the folding table days. Tables seat eight and sponsorships are open now.

Free tutoring five afternoons a week on Dowlen Road, staffed by retired teachers and college volunteers. Homework help, reading practice and a quiet desk with a snack, no registration fee and no waiting list.

Two new plots on the north side brought our growing space to six gardens, now feeding over 200 families each month through home harvests and the pantry. Thank you to every neighbor who turned soil with us in June.

When you write to us through this site we receive the name, email address, subject and message you send. If you sign up for our newsletter we keep your email address until you ask us to remove it. Nothing else is gathered from this page.
Information shared with a case worker is held separately from this website and is seen only by the staff working with that household. We never publish a family name, photograph or story without written permission, and permission can be withdrawn at any time.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not trade or rent our mailing list. Service providers who help us run the site or our email see only what they need to provide that service, under written agreement.
Write to z@hopecommunity.foundation to see, correct or delete anything we hold about you. We reply within thirty days and confirm in writing once your request is complete.
